Nomination Form

Nominations for the 2023 Lowenstein Award are now closed.

Thank you to all who submitted nominations for this year’s Lowenstein Award. Please check back in fall of 2024 for the opening of next year’s Award nominations.

We are seeking people dedicated to assisting the poor and underprivileged in the City of Portland. For three decades, we have favored innovators, founders, and next-generation leaders who have taken their work to a higher level. These are dedicated people working unselfishly behind the scenes to tangibly help others. Often the person is a volunteer or receives only modest compensation. Recognition is given to an individual, and the accompanying $10,000 honorarium must be used to further the honoree’s work. While the funds are usually given to an organization affiliated with the Award recipient, this is an individual honor and not a grant. We have always looked favorably on people for whom the recognition and cash award will make a significant difference.
